For over 18 years, I’ve worked in professional kitchens, including Sydney’s iconic restaurants, Quay and Pilu at Freshwater.
Those years taught me that a knife is much more than just a tool—it shapes the way you cook and work in the kitchen.
That curiosity led me to Japan, where I learned about knife making and sharpening and experienced the craftsmanship behind Japanese knives firsthand.
Mikazuki was born from that journey.
I carefully select Japanese knives and offer sharpening and maintenance because I believe a good knife should be used, cared for, and enjoyed for many years.
My goal is simple: to help you find the right knife—and keep it sharp.
Through every knife and every sharpening service, I hope to share the Japanese tradition of caring for tools and make everyday cooking more enjoyable and meaningful.
For our brand, Mikazuki is written as 美和喜 in Japanese, representing beauty, peace, and joy.
